Summary
This study investigates whether there is a demand for climate change mitigation from air travel passengers and examines what motivations underlie this demand. Our results show that there is a substantial demand for climate change mitigation action, although significant differences are found between travellers from Europe, North America, Asia and the rest of the world. We find that funds in the order of magnitude of €23 billion could be generated annually from air passengers to help mitigate climate change.
