Project partner: REECS
The study proposes to develop a system of environmental service payment and to establish the link between the supply of environmental services provided by forest dwellers and the demand by end users for those environmental services. The objective of the research is to generate empirical support to the policy on the institutionalisation of environmental services payment (ESP) systems. The study will (1) identify and quantify the environmental services provided by two groups of forest dwellers; (2) to estimate the willingness to pay of end users for the services; and (3) design a system of payments to reward the forest dwellers for the environmental services they provide to society.
