General Information
This study sets out to design incentives for forest conservation and poverty alleviation without jeopardizing access of the poor to forest resources to sustain livelihood strategies, in the context of Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) of Tanzania. The design of market based incentives described above, calls for multiple inputs including identification and valuation of environmental services provided by the forests in the study area, to design a system of payments by the key users of the forest services.
